Valley Communitv Church <br />Application for a conditional use permit to allow the installation of a temporary circns <br />type tent for a week-long children's program (July 28 through August 2, 1991) at the <br />Valley Community Church located at 4455 Del Valle Parkway. Zoning for the property <br />is P (Public and Iustitutional) District. <br /> <br />Z-91-100. Vallev Communitv Church <br />Application for design review approval to install two modular units for use as temporary <br />classroom space to be located at the rear of the existing church facility at 4455 Del Valle <br />Parkway. Zoning for the property is P (Public and Institutional) District. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Case Z-91-1oo was referred to the Design Review Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of Case UP-91-30 subject to the <br />conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh asked if the Fire Department looks at the construction and <br />installation of the tent. Mr. Swift affirmed this question. <br /> <br />In regard to Condition 6, Commissioner Michelotti suggested that the 9:15 p.m. dispersal <br />time be extended to 9:30 p.m. Staff had no problem with that request. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Dan Mitchum, Associate Pastor, 3815 Vine Street, represented the application. He said the <br />week-long children's program will be attended by about 300 children in the age 5-12 range. <br />The intent is only to gather and disperse under the tent. He described the tent as having no <br />sides or floor. Mr. Mitchum was in favor of the change to 9:30 p.m. suggested by <br />Commissioner Michelotti; he said he concurs with all staff conditions.
