REVISIONS..A.ND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA

~

Mr. Swift requested that UP-91-20 and V-91-13, James Griffen; and UP-91-32, Kentucky
Fried Chicken be continued to 7/24/91. The Commission agreed to his request. Case
Z-91-1oo, Valley Community Church was referred to the Design Review Board.

In regard to Case UP-91-20 and V-91-13, James Griffen, Commissioner Horan
said he would like to see some drawings that are in proportion that will address the height
issue.

MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

1. Commissioner Hovingh noted that the BMW dealership had finally taken their signs out
of the window and commended the person responsible for that "feat". He also commented
that he hoped the rest of the agenda would be short when the Ridgeland issue is again
reviewed.

Commissioner Hovingh commented that over the years he has expressed a desire for a
histograph of the salary, population, density in Pleasanton in terms of the jobs in North
Pleasanton and also a histograph of the price of housing and number of units available. He
wondered if some of that information might be gained from the 1990 census and be included
in the next Growth Management Report. Mr. Swift said he would check into the matter.

~

2. In regard to the Victorian home project currently under construction on Division Street
off Hopyard Road, Commissioner Michelotti said she thought one of the large trees was
supposed to be left on the site. She noted they have all been removed and wondered if that
was done according to the conditions of approval. Mr. Swift said the conditions allowed that
all the trees on the top of the bank or basically the flat portion of the land were allowed to be
removed, partially because of the ill health of the trees or because of the impact of the
project. He was not sure whether it was approved in that fashion or whether it came up
later in the process; however, he said he would check on the matter if the Commissioner
desired this.

3. In regard to the formation of the Ridgeland committees, Commissioner McGuirk said that
some people have commented to him they were not comfortable with the way the committees
were formed. It appeared they could not ascertain who the citizens were in comparison to
the homeowners. Mr. Swift noted that a list of those who were on the committees was
available for review, as well as what made a person eligible for a committee, which was
whether a person owned property, or where they lived.

Commissioner Hovingh felt that out of a community of about 50,000 people, about 40,000
people could have signed up for the committees if they wanted to. As it was, about 100
people signed up, which indicated to him the rest did not really care. Commissioner Horan
agreed with those comments, and felt that it was obvious that landowners on the Ridge would

,-

Minutes Planning commission
July 10, 1991

Page 2

,.

.
