~ Page 15 - fourth paragraph - first sentence: Chairman Mahern amended it to read:
.She had come into the meeting prepared to postpone the project. Even though
she felt that staff has done exactly what the Commission asked for, she is now
convinced that they could go forward, while at the same time she is not saying she
could approve a final plan."

Page 16 - first paragraph -Second and third sentences: Commissioner McGuirk
amended it to read: "He felt it absolutely necessary to reserve a school site of 1 0
acres or more, but if that is done, he could not see all potential school traffic going
down Junipero, left on Sunol, then left up the east/west connector or Ventana Hills
to Independence Drive. Mr. Rathbone strongly disagreed with
that viewpoint and felt that was courting disaster. He felt it is ridiculous to keep
putting in more new houses with the water situation as it is. He felt the City is
putting itself into a perilous condition and will regret it at some point in time.

REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA

Mr. Swift requested that RZ-91-2, City of Pleasanton, be continued to 5-22-91.
The Commission agreed to this request.

MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

1 . Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman

Commissioner Hovingh initiated a discussion regarding Section 18.16.070 of the
City Code in regard to the offices of chairman and vice chairman. He suggested
the Commission might wish to amend the Code in order to allow Chairman Mahern

MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION - MAY 8, 1991 Page 2

..

-
