,-- Commissioner McGuirk further questioned the applicant as to how many cabs are
operable. Mr. Ghorbani said that 8-9 are operable.

Mr. Ghorbani said he is trying to find a more suitable place for his business and
would like to stay in Pleasanton. However, it takes time to find such a place that
he can afford in Pleasanton. He asked that the Commission work with him in that
respect.

Commissioner Horan expressed concern that the inoperable cars are taking spaces
away from those that are usable. Mr. Ghorbani said he has looked for rental
spaces, but it costs $50/month/per car and he could not afford this amount.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED.

Commissioner Horan asked if a conditional use permit could be called back for
review should further problems occur. Mr. Swift said that this can be done.

Lengthy discussion ensued as to solving the storage problem.

Commissioner Horan suggested that the applicant be given at least 30 days to
work out the situation and review the case in six months.

~ Chairman Mahern felt a year might be more appropriate to review the case, but
had no problem with allowing 30 days to work out the matter.

Commissioner Hovingh felt that 15 days would be sufficient.

Commissioner Horan suggested they talk to the applicant about 15 versus 30
days.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED.

Mr. Ghorbani returned to the podium. He said one of the other tenants just told
him he could use two of their spaces, so now it appears that he needs only two
more. He felt that he needs 30 days to work out the situation. Commissioner
Horan pointed out that if he receives 30 days to work the matter out, that the
situation must be corrected or his permit will be revoked.

Chairman Mahern felt it was not a good idea for the applicant to use up two more
spaces that belong to another tenant.

Commissioner Wright felt it was appropriate for the applicant to use up those
spaces if the other tenants did not mind.

MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION APRIL 10, 1991 Page 8

I.

.
