MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

a. Election of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
b. Appointment of Human Services representative.

Items 7a and 7b were continued in order to have a full Commission vote.

Commissioner Hovingh advised that there is very little walkway space between the outdoor
dining iron railing at Nicole and Giovanni's Restaurant and the concrete bench. He would
like the concrete bench moved. Mr. Swift commented that the situation has been brought to
the City's attention and has been reviewed. Mr. Swift believes it meets the requirements for
the minimum distance, although possible alternatives are being discussed.

Commissioner Barker inquired if the Ruby Hills signs are within the City sign ordinance. As
of Monday, June 20th, Mr. Swift stated Ruby Hills had not gotten approval for their
directional signs to the sales office, and more signs are up than is allowed in the Code. One
disallowed sign is in a residential parcel. Staff is working with Ruby Hills to conform their
signs to City ordinance.

Commissioner Wright advised that two King Air service trucks are always parked at
Goldcrest and Hopyard. He feels it is improbable that there are two individuals living there
who would be driving the trucks. He questioned whether King Air is conducting an in-home
business at that residence.

8.
