<br />r- Commissioner Wright advised that he is not happy with the desig of the planter. <br />Commissioner Hovingh stated that he would prefer a more rustic ook for Downtown. <br />Commissioner Michelotti stated that she did not see a problem . the one that is chosen as <br />long as the trash receptacle matches. Commissioner Mahern felt at the planter looked too <br />Grecian and that she did not care for the pedestal. Mr. Iserson a vised that staff could work <br />with the manufacturer on a custom design and could request a ch ge in the design <br />eliminating the pedestal. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commk~ioner Michelotti, seconded b Commill.Sioner Mahern, <br />recommending staff's recommendation for the design of the c ncrete bench, the <br />"Campanile" planter and trash receptacle with the eliminatio of the pedestal, the <br />concrete planter stand, the DU Mor Model #58 iron bench, bicycle rack, and the <br />elimination of the enclosed telephone booth, using only the tel phone enclosure, <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh expressed concern that the taxpayers wo ld be funding these items, <br />noting that in other cities other sources of funding are used for ese types of amenities. He <br />stated that he believed this would be an opportunity for the Cent ial Committee and <br />service groups to participate in the funding. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the importance of the continuity in p chasing all of the items at <br />one time and completing the installation of these items in conjun tion with the Downtown <br />reconstruction. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Mahern, Michelotti, Wright and C airman McGuirk <br />Commissioner Hovingh <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution No. PC-93-38 was entered and adopted recommen ' g staff's <br />recommendation for the design of the street furniture for Ma Street as motioned. <br /> <br />S,d. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report, advising that the City Coun il has referred the <br />Ridgelands Draft Plan and Agreement for review by the Plannin Commission and the <br />General Plan Update Steering Committee. He reported that the teering Committee met on <br />Monday, July 12, regarding this issue, and are scheduled to mee again on Monday, July 19. <br />The Committee has asked for input from the Planning Commissi n on issues of the draft <br />Agreement and Plan. He suggested that the Planning Commissi n take public testimony this <br />evening regarding appropriate land uses for the Ridgelands area.
