She called attention to Lots 53A, 55A, 55B, 7 A and B and stressed <br />that she would not want to see a patchwork of office in one lot, and mmercial in another. <br />Mr. Yang replied they too do not want a hodgepodge of developmen. They see those lots as <br />being a very important window to the freeway and would work out very comprehensive <br />plan to make the best use of that area. With that in mind, they feel ey can attract a good <br />mix, yet a mix of business that will be an attractive entry to Hacien Business Park. <br /> <br />Mr. Swift noted that those lots are basically opposite the proposed <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern again expressed her concern as to how Lot 1 A will be treated and <br />asked the applicant how he would feel about tightening up the condi on for that lot. Mr. <br />Yang stated that he understands her concern regarding that lot and h w its use might affect <br />the Val Vista Center. He stressed they do not want to put some bu ess there that the <br />community does not want or that would be detrimental to other bus' esses. He had no <br />objections to further tightening of the conditions of approval for that lot. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern again stressed that she would not like to see y kind of business put <br />into Lot l4A or Hacienda Business Park that would adversely affect e Val Vista Center or <br />any other adjacent businesses. She would certainly not like to see y kind of business such <br />as a Super-K-Mart store as is in Irvine. Mr. Yang replied that the ity has the discretionary <br />authority to limit the type of businesses they might want on the site, hether it is next year <br />or 10 years from now. Mr. Swift affirmed that statement and remin ed the Commission that <br />they can be specific as to what kinds of business they want for Lot 1 A. <br /> <br />Chairman Hovingh expressed concern in regard to signage for the 10 , particularly those <br />facing the freeway. He stated he would definitely not want pylon si ns sprouting up all over <br />and hoped that the applicant would have some creative ideas on how to make any necessary <br />signage attractive along with the softening effects of landscaping. H would particularly <br />want appropriate landscaping along the 580 freeway. Mr. Yang poi ted out that they have <br />many millions of dollars invested in Hacienda and mistakes could li rally kill them. They <br />would do everything in their power to install signage in good taste ith landscaping, and <br />would require that any user conform to that. <br /> <br />Commissioner Michelotti expressed concern about the intersection 0 Hopyard Road and <br />Owens Drive and discussed this with Mr. Swift. <br /> <br />COMMRNTS FROM ATIDTRNCE: <br /> <br />1. Paul Ebright, 5416 Blackbird Drive, stated that he feels the subj t of Hacienda Business <br />Park development is so big and has such an impact on the citizens 0 Pleasanton that he <br />hardly knew what to say. He told the applicant that 10 years ago th re were certain <br />conditions put on Hacienda regarding traffic mitigations.
