<br />He felt that LOS E is already here and that traffic is impacted. He ged that the <br />Commission turn down the applicant's request for modifications and at a Citizens Review <br />Committee look at all the possible impacts. <br /> <br />2. Robert Pearson, 3590 Churchill Court, stated that he has been a t Council member <br />and a past Mayor of the City. He said he is afraid of the word "fie .bility" and what it <br />might connotate. He questioned how the City could afford to build $10 million interchange <br />for W. Las Positas if they cannot afford to sweep the streets. He fe it was very important <br />that an assessment district or some other means to provide funds for interchange be <br />worked out now so that the City does not lose control over Hacien Business Park. Mr. <br />Pearson expressed concern about sewer capacity and recalled an inci ent when he was on the <br />Council when he was served with a lawsuit. He was also concerned about the possibility of <br />drinking water from a reverse osmosis recycling system. He felt th technology involved in <br />that system was limited and the long-term effects of drinking such w ter was undetermined. <br />Mr. Pearson felt that it Prudential was not worried about sewer cap ity, they would not be <br />asking for reservations at this time, and felt the City should not give any reservation on <br />sewer capacity. In regard to traffic, Mr. Pearson felt that if anythin needs to be changed <br />Prudential should have to pay for it, but that it should not be borne y the citizens of <br />Pleasanton. He urged the Commission not give the applicant the fie .bility they are <br />requesting. He reiterated that a Citizens Review Committee or a Ge era! Plan review be <br />done before any further action is taken. <br /> <br /> <br />3. David Jones, 1605 Rose Avenue, addressed levels of traffic at D nker Drive and Johnson <br />Avenue. He noted that he has property adjacent to those streets and that he has observed <br />that people use those streets as a shortcut to Stoneridge Drive. He ressed concern that <br />the City would eventually use that route to mitigate traffic and he w s opposed to that. In <br />response to that concern, Mr. Swift discussed the matter with Mr. J nes and said he did not <br />think the City would ever intend to install such mitigation measures; however, he would <br />further research the matter and get back with Mr. Jones. <br /> <br />4. Robert Johnson, President of Diamond Properties, 840 Hincldey oad, Suite 220, <br />Burlingame, specifically addressed concerns regarding the Lucky S re in Val Vista Center. <br />He stated that he is very concerned how decisions tonight would affi t the economy of the <br />Lucky Store, and noted that he had been at a previous meeting to e ress his concerns. He <br />stated that he is particularly concerned about Lot l4A and the possi . .ty of another <br />supermarket being put at that location. He felt that he has already 1 st some benefit of a <br />driveway to Hacienda Business Park because of traffic mitigations d did not want further <br />mitigations to affect his site. He felt that Prudential should solve th ir own problems as <br />other businesses have to do, and that the City should not have to sol e them for Prudential. <br />He noted that the Lucky Store thought expansion of their market wo d make them a more <br />successful market; however, when they asked the Planning Departm nt about it they were <br />told they could not expand because of lack of space in the Center. e explained that his plan <br />included using some of the spaces now occupied or vacant in the Ce ter for Lucky's use. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes May 12, 1993 <br /> <br />Page 10 <br />
