He noted that one solution might be to offer the property ers some kind of incentives, such as rehabilitation funds and low interest loans. Mr. mussen advised that the City is trying very hard to be creative in dealing with this issue. Commissioner Michelotti asked Mr. Rasmussen whether the landlor is required to help a tenant who might be displaced once the subsidized payments are 'nated. Mr. Rasmussen did not feel that is the case at this time. Commissioner Michelotti s ggested that in the future this could be a requirement that the displaced person be given some type of assistance. Commissioner Michelotti commented that she liked Mr. Rasmussen' idea of offering an incentive to the landlord, and further suggested that the City might if the time limit for subsidies, etc, might be extended to 30 years, rather than 10-15 Y s. Commissioner McGuirk asked for further clarification as to Progra 24.4 in regard to minimizing the displacement and inconvenience of the tenants. Mr. Rasmussen noted that the issue of displacement is a fairly new problem, and the City is I king for a solution before the problem really hits. Commissioner McGuirk called attention to Policy 24.8 on page 13' regard to the wording of "assistance."
