He commented that an auto lu e business had been
denied by Council for that location, but that the mortuary has reee ved approval from
Council. The applicant has closed escrow on the property and mu t be out of their present
property at a certain time. It appears that parking and traffic are e concerns of the
neighbors. At the request f the neighbors the
applicant is fencing the entire 300 and some feet of property from north to south. The
distance from the back fence to the railroad tracks is about 125 ft. it would be about 400 ft.
to the closest neighbor.

Commissioner Horan asked who gets the public notices. Mr. Gol sworthy replied that
notices were sent to homes 300 ft. plus from the project, along wi notices sent to those
neighbors who attended the neighborhood meetings before the proj t went to Design
Review. The meeting was noticed for Design Review, for the vance hearing, and also for
tonight.

Juanita Bianchi, 4105 Walnut Drive, said she was not here to add ss the variance, but to
state her concerns.

Chairman Mahern pointed out to Ms. Bianchi that the Commissio can only take action
tonight on issues related to the variance.

Ms. Bianchi continued to say that she was not notified of the Desi n Review meeting of
October 8 and therefore, was not able to attend to voice her conce s. Chairman Mahern
reminded her that the application has already been approved and e appeal period is over.
Ms. Bianchi insisted she was not notified of the meeting.

Minutes Planning Commission
January 8, 1992

Page 12
