2. Future building developers shall work with the Mariposa Ranch Design Review <br /> Board and the Planning Department to implement the applicable US Green <br /> Building standards on exterior building and site lighting, with the objective of <br /> reducing light glare. <br /> 3. Future building applicants and homeowners are encouraged to use best <br /> management practices for the use of pesticides and herbicides, similar to the <br /> integrated pest management program used on the golf course. <br /> 4. Future building applicants shall explore with the Mariposa Ranch Design Review <br /> Board and the Planning Department staff the storage and use of recycled gray <br /> water, rain water, etc. for landscape irrigation. <br /> 5. Future building applicants are encouraged to use permeable paving for on-site <br /> driveways, sidewalks, patios, etc. <br /> 6. The appeal period of the Zoning Administrator's action for the new homes in the <br /> development shall be 20 calendar days from the date of approval. If the 20th day <br /> falls on a weekend or holiday where City of Pleasanton offices are closed, the <br /> appeal period shall extend to the Monday following the weekend or the first <br /> business day following the holiday. <br /> 7. A list of all green building measures in the home designs for this development <br /> shall be provided for the review and approval of the Planning Director with the <br /> applications for design review approval. Each home shall be designed to include <br /> a minimum of 50 points using the Alameda County Waste Management <br /> Authority's Green Points system with a minimum often points in each category <br /> (Resources, Energy, and IAQ/Health). <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin suggested that the state-of-the-art methods mentioned in <br />Condition No. 2 not be specified because of the variety of new technology available to <br />consumers, including wireless access. <br /> <br />Ms. Nerland advised that the overall guidelines had been approved by City Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Blank suggested that "i.e." (that is) be replaced by "e.g." (for example). <br />Commissioner Arkin agreed with that suggestion. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />David Bogstad, project architect, noted that the applicant was committed to building the <br />structure well and plans to sell it; he believed this project would be visually special. The <br />applicant was looking forward to commencing construction. <br /> <br />Related to the Council-amended conditions and in response to an inquiry by <br />Commissioner Blank regarding lighting, Mr. Bogstad confirmed that mercury vapor <br />lights would not be used.
