We've lost access to Amador Courts and the courts at First Street and Bemal Avenue
because they were replaced by parking lots. We have to travel to neighboring cities during
peak hours because we are turned away from courts that are overloaded.

· We pay for the courts because there's a system here where we have to pay to keep them
nice but there isn't enough to meet demand. You can give some of that space for tennis
courts.

DAVE MCCARROLL (Board for Pleasanton Softball League)
· Softball is popular this year and we've had to turn away adults because of the limited
amount of lighted fields. I think there's a need for lighted softbalt fields.

JEFF BAUSER (President of Pleasanton Foothill Little League)
· One reason I chose to raise my kids here was the amount of sports opportunities. Youth
sports are important to youth development. So, I just want to reiterate the importance of
having multi-use fields that we all can share.

RICHARD OCHOA
· Will the park facilitate running and jogging? Will there be paved trails?

BOB NICKERSON
· Keep in mind, these facilities are going to cost money, there's maintenance, electricity costs
for lighting, and there isn't an infrastructure.

· I disagree with Joe Russo's assessment that everything should be in one area. Move the
Community Park south where the three access roads come together to provide more
access and the lighted fields will fit in better where there's already more noise and more
parking.

· Leave a buffer zone between Downtown and the park. It will keep some of the glare and
noise out of the Downtown area and it preserves some of the rural character of this town.

MR, GREYWALD
· One thing I want to point out, the mission statement makes four points about open space.

· Why do we need to have a cultural arts center on the property when there are so many
vacant buildings in town? When you're driving in to Pleasanton you see open space, which is
a good first impression of the town but if you add more buildings, like this Cultural Arts
Center, it's going to take away this impression, rd like to see things as open as possible.

TESSY WAGNER PEAS
· There is a strong vibrant adult community in sports. We have over 500 players in our adult
soccer league (ages 21-50+). We fight for field space iust as everyone else. We're just as
important as the kids. Our league was instrumental in gathering a lot signatures for the "Save

Bernal Property Town Meeting ]SummaryReporL-Apdl//,2005 Pagel5
