<br />WILDFIRE MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />IMPACT 7.3A: Open space areas adjacent to the proposed houses would create an increasing <br />wildfire hazard over time if left untended. As human occupancy increases in the area, so would <br />the chances of fire as well as the number of people and amount of property value at risk. FEIR <br />page 7-11. <br /> <br />Mitigation Measures 7.3-1 and 7.3-2: Prepare a wildfire management plan for the site to <br />reduce the risk of open land wildfires while protecting habitat and other open space values. <br />The plan shall specify ownership, maintenance, use, brush control and fire-resistant <br />landscaping measures, as well as periodic review of these measures, for project open <br />lands. FEIR pages 7-13, 7-14. <br /> <br />Findine:: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into the project <br />that avoid or substantially lessen the significant effect identified in the Final EIR. <br /> <br />Rationale for Finding: The standards of the Wildlife Management Plan will limit the <br />project fire protection impacts by reducing the risk of wildfires. <br /> <br />EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS <br /> <br />IMPACT 7.3B: Emergency routes may not function effectively for emergency use, due to locked <br />gates. FEIR page 7-11. <br /> <br />Mitie:ation Measures 7.3-3 and 7.3-4: Provide information and make arrangements for use <br />of gates in emergencies. Provide a pamphlet for project residents regarding emergency <br />evacuation. <br /> <br />Finding: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into the project that <br />avoid or substantially lessen the significant effect identified in the Final EIR. <br /> <br />Rationale for Finding: The requirements of this mitigation measure will provide the <br />necessary information for emergency routes to function effectively. <br /> <br />ACCESS TO OPEN SPACE <br /> <br />IMPACT 7.3C: There is a lack of access to open space along the east side of the proposed <br />residential subdivision. This access is needed to provide maintenance and to allow emergency <br />access for fire equipment. FEIR page 7-12. <br /> <br />Mitie:ation Measure 7.3-5: Revise the project site plan as needed to provide emergency <br />access to open space.
