8-19: Drainaae of SDrinas. streams and Fills

A. The project geotechnical engineer shall provide
recommendations for controlling drainage from springs or
streams. In particular, subsurface drainage shall be
provided for all springs or streams which will be covered
by fill.

B. Subsurface drains shall be placed under all fills
proposed on the site. The bases of the fills shall be
drained with either a series of trench drains forming a
herringbone pattern or with a blanket drain which
underlies the entire fill. These drainage systems shall
discharge into the storm drainage system. Also, trench
drains shall be placed across all valleys on-site where
the valley trends off-site. Each trench drain shall be
placed perpendicular to the centerline of the valley and
shall be located near the subdivision boundary. These
trench drains shall be 5to 10 feet deep. The purpose of
the trench drains placed across the valleys near the
subdivision boundaries is to reduce the amount of
groundwater flow onto adjacent properties.

8-20: Groundwater - Relation to Surface Drainaae

The surface drainage system for the development as a whole
shall be evaluated by the geotechnical engineer and
engineering geologist in order to determine the effects of the
surface drainage system on the groundwater regime at the site.

8-21: Other Groundwater Considerations

The developer shall provide a pamphlet to individual
homeowners cautioning against over-irrigating landscaping
areas. Excessive irrigation water is a common cause of
groundwater seepage problems.

9. NOISE

9-1: Noise Barriers to Minimize Traffic Noise

A. The applicant shall construct a noise barrier to the
standards proposed on Figure 9-2 of the EIR to mitigate
outdoor noise levels to an Ldn of 60 dB or less. This
mitigation measure shall be coordinated with Mitigation
Measure 5-4.

11

.
