Findinq: Mitigation Measures 8-11 and 8-12 Feasible and Required

The City finds that it is feasible to mitigate this impact to a
less-than-significant level by requiring the applicant and
successors in interest to incorporate the specific provisions of
Mitigation Measures 8-11 and 8-12 into the project design. The
applicant and successors in interest shall incorporate such
differential fill settlement impact reduction provisions into
project design as a "Condition of Approval" to the project.

Expansive Soil

Impact: Potential structural damaqe from expansive soil

The City finds that the project may experience damage to structures
by earth movement from Changing soil moisture content (Draft EIR,
page 8-15).

proposed Mitigation Measures of the EIR

The EIR identified the following mitigation measures which would
substantially avoid this impact.

8-13 Evaluate for expansive soil and design structures to resist
soil movement (Draft EIR, page 8-15). Said mitigation measure
was considered and adopted with any pertinent changes in
Condition 8-13, Exhibit "B" of the Planning commission staff
report dated May 27, 1992.

8-14 Design surface drainage system to control surface drainage to
reduce seasonal fluctuations in soil moisture content (Draft
EIR, page 8-15). Said mitigation measure was considered and
adopted with any pertinent changes in Condition 8-14, Exhibit
"B" of the Planning Commission staff report dated May 27,
1992.

8-15 Follow appropriate construction procedures to avoid expansive
soil damage (Draft EIR, page 8-16).
