seismic Activity
Impact: potential for structure damage from seismic activity

The City finds that the project may experience structure damage to
dwellings at the site and slope and stream bank failures, due to
seismic shaking. This is a potential significant impact (Draft
EIR, page 8-17).

proposed Mitigation Measure of the EIR

The EIR identified the following mitigation measure which would
substantially avoid this impact.

8-16 Provide earthquake resistant design for buildings, underground
utilities and other improvements (Draft EIR, page 8-17). Said
mitigation measure was considered and adopted with any
pertinent changes in Condition 8-16, Exhibit "B" of the
Planning commission staff report dated May 27, 1992.

Finding: Mitigation Measure 8-16 Feasible and Required

The City finds that it is feasible to mitigate this impact to a
less-than-significant level by requiring the applicant and
successors in interest to incorporate the specific provisions of
Mitigation 8-16 into the project design. The applicant and
successors in interest shall incorporate such seismicity impact
reduction provisions into project design as a "Condition of
Approval" to the project.

Drainage
Impact: Downstream flooding and sedimentation

The city finds that the increase in impervious surfaces created by
the project may cause downstream flooding and sedimentation. This
is a significant impact (Draft EIR, page 8-18).

proposed Mitigation Measure of the EIR

The EIR identified the following mitigation measure which would
substantially avoid this impact.

8-17 Implement hydraulic improvements to minimize the effects of
increased runoff from project development (Draft EIR, page
8-18). Said mitigation measure was considered and adopted
with any pertinent changes in Condition 8-17, Exhibit "B" of
the Planning Commission staff report dated May 27, 1992.

20

..

-
