Mark Stoklosa fVintal!e Hills Health Club/Brian Hammer) <br />Application for a conditional use permit to operate a health and fitness club at the <br />existing Vintage Hills Shopping Center located at 3350 Bernal Avenue. Zoning for the <br />property is PUD (Planned Duit Development) - CoN (Neighborhood Commercial) <br />District. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report for the application for a conditional use permit to <br />operate a health and fitness club at an existing vacant 20,000 square feet tenant space located <br />at the Vintage Hills Shopping Center. Besides the fitness, training, and aerobics activities, <br />the health club would also include a nail salon, child care, and travel services for member <br />use only. <br /> <br />Staff was concerned with the proposed hours of operation. The hours are recommended to <br />be limited to 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and <br />Sunday. Staff recommends approval of the conditional use permit subject to the conditions <br />of approval in Exhibit B. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hovingh noted that the Cowboy Country Club must keep their doors closed, <br />and inquired if this should be applied to the fitness center. Mr. Iserson noted that the back <br />door is required to be kept closed, which is closer to the residential area. Commissioner <br />Hovingh would like to add that the front door also be required to be kept closed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dove commented that the rear entrance would be difficult to escape through in <br />the case of an emergency.
