In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Arkin, Ms. Kline confirmed that a <br />representative from the Planning staff normally attended developer-hosted meetings if <br />staff were aware of them. Commissioner Arkin requested that a member of staff attend <br />the next meeting. <br />Commissioner Fox suggested that staff obtain any exhibits that were presented to the <br />neighborhood. <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Ms. Kline advised that Item 6.d., City of Pleasanton -Veterans Memorial Buildin¢ <br />Renovation, would be continued to the meeting of November 10, 2004. <br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />There were none. <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br />a. PDR-377, Pleasanton Presbyterian Church <br />Application for design review approval to construct a church complex consisting <br />of four buildings measuring approximately 24, 108 square feet, 29,718 square <br />feet, 20,344 square feet, and 8,240 square feet, respectively, to be located at the <br />northeast corner of the intersection of Valley Avenue and Busch Road. Zoning <br />for the property is PUD-P&I (Planned Unit Development -Public and <br />Institutional) District. <br />Ms. Kline summarized the staff report. The City Council approved a conditional use <br />permit for the facility and required that the final design plans be submitted to the <br />Planning Commission for design review of the buildings in the church facility. Ms. Kline <br />summarized the history of this application and described the site and scope of the project <br />phases. She noted that applicants would make a revised presentation in terms of the <br />height of the tower/cross. With a total square footage of 82,400 square feet, the project <br />would be subject to the Commercial and Civic Green Building Ordinance and is required <br />to achieve a Certified LEED rating. Both staff and the green building consultant worked <br />with the church and developed a viable list of credits and points they can obtain. There <br />would be a total of 382 parking spaces to serve the complex, exceeding the 150 required <br />by Code; one-third of the parking places would be a permeable parking surface with turf <br />surface to serve special events. The overflow pazking area would provide overflow <br />pazking without the appearance of an asphalt parking lot yeaz-round. <br />Ms. Kline advised that, as required at the time of the PUD approval, there would be a <br />connection from the residential development to the Iron Horse Trail through the church <br />property. This connection would be an eight-foot sidewalk that runs alongside the church <br />- pazking lot.
