Chairperson Roberts noted that it was difficult to separate the items and put them in <br />General Plan form because some were very broad. She noted that comments such as <br />"Guide Pleasanton to a sustainable energy future" were too broad and should be defined <br />more specifically. <br />Commissioner Sullivan noted that this brainstorming session was meant to generate <br />unedited comments. He noted that the next step was to further refine the comments. He <br />suggested letting the Energy Committee review the list first with a consultant, which <br />would result in many of the items going away. The remaining items could then become <br />more specific policies, which would be more appropriate for the Commission and City <br />Council to review. <br />Chairperson Roberts suggested that the inclusion ofgreen-building language in the <br />General Plan should include possible improvements in technology. <br />Mr. Iserson expressed concern that sending the list back to the Energy Committee would <br />prolong the process. <br />Commissioner Arkin would like the language to be organized more before he could <br />provide comment. <br />Chairperson Roberts agreed with Commissioner Arkin's assessment <br />Chairperson Roberts requested that Commissioner Sullivan summarize the comments and <br />charts for Planning Commission's review. <br />Commissioner Sullivan noted that he would summarize the Energy Committee's <br />comments in the future. He noted that the organization of data should not exclude any of <br />the suggestions. <br />Mr. Iserson advised that by consensus, the Planning Commission decided that the list <br />should go back to the Energy Committee for them to better organize it and to include <br />more policy-type statements that would be easier for the Commission to respond to. <br />Chairperson Roberts suggested that more of the terms in the list be defined. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />a. Consideration of Assembly Bill 2702: Housing: Second Units/Housing on <br />School Sites. <br />Ms. Nerland advised that a draft letter had been included with the staff report. She noted <br />that this was Assembly Member Steinberger's second clarification to Assembly <br />Bill 1866.
