California Splash
Commissioner Fox noted that with respect to California Splash, she had requested that a copy of
the materials be made available at the City Library. She understood that none of the emails for or
against the park that were given to the Planning Commission were in that packet. The only
emails the City Council received in their packet were those received after December 10, 2003.
She inquired whether the Council received a separate packet that was not in the Library that
included the other emails received over the past year. She requested a copy of that packet as
soon as possible and would like the entire story to be available. She believed that the public had
an expectation that their emails would be made available to the Council.
Mr. Iserson advised that he would look into that issue.
Commissioner Fox requested that those emails be made available to the Council if they had not
been already. She noted that she had received phone calls and a-mails from some of the writers
of those emails.
Commissioner Sullivan suggested that if the Council moved quickly on the moratorium, it would
apply to California Splash.
Chairperson Roberts advised that the Council continued the public hearing on California Splash
to Tuesday, March 30, 2004.
Enerav Committee
Commissioner Sullivan noted that there was atwo-page article in the newspaper on the
Pleasanton Energy Committee.
Cut-Through Traffic
Commissioner Sullivan noted that while riding on BART that evening, two people in the next
seat were discussing the best way to get from the BART station east and how to cut through
Pleasanton. He heard one of the men state, "I know why those Pleasanton guys don't want to put
any roads going through to Livermore; it would just be packed with cars all the time."
Commissioner Maas requested that a "No U-Turn" sign be placed at Valley Avenue and Stanley
near the McDonald's Restaurant.
Chairperson Roberts noted that a U-turn was better at that intersection; otherwise, the cars would
go through town.
Commissioner Fox noted that those U-turns caused a great deal of anger on the part of the
residents.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES March 24, 2004 Page 20 of 22
