This
was when the school district still owned the property
behind our neighborhood for construction of a high
school. Later, things were changed and various
construction has been done in the Sycamore/Happy
Valley area. We have had to withstand a great deal of
meetings and arguments over this area and withstood a
lot of construction. So now we have a great number of
houses south of us that never existed. The only
problem is, to get to any of them requires a great
deal of trouble. There is no connection other than
over on San Antonio which is not convenient. At one
time there was supposed to be a park in this area with
the Bridlecreek construction. At some time that was
taken out, but the path to connect the neighborhoods
still existed. It needs to remain. I have 3 boys and
they should be able to ride their bikes over to their
friends houses. Now this requires basically going all
the way aroung to San Antonio or going on Sunol, which
is not an option. There is no reason to take this
path out. The council has always said that they
believe that neighborhoods in Pleasanton should be
connected. The property owner has been arguing for
years that his horses would be bothered by this path.
I am assuming that this will no longer be an issue
because he is finally subdividing his property. They
have also maintained that it should retain its rural
feel. I would love it if that were true. That was
one reason we moved where we did. But it is no longer
rural in this area and he is now subdividing also. I
am sick of having to come to the city to defend this
again. You need to build the path and move on.

Second, the homes should be one story on the lots
nearest San Carlos. We already have the Bridle Creek
homes, some of which the neighbors were able to get to
be one story. These should be too! The monstrosity
of a house next door is an eye sore from our
neighborhood. There used to be horses and a view of
the ridge. Mow all you see is the Bozorgzad's
enormous house. I am sure that they have a beautiful
view of both Mt Diablo and the ridge, but what about
the rest of us! They blocked our neighborhood. I
fought on that one and was amazed at what we ended
with. If you have not seen it from our side, you
should! Please go to the top of San Carlos and look.

Next, the grading should be lowered even more. The
neighboring house is way above our neighborhood. It
is absolulely awful. The properties should be brought
down to not only that of the houses on our the end of
San Carlos, but even lower so that they do not ruin
the view any more than it already is and look into the
homes in our neighborhood.
!
