.

.

.

Commissioner Wright clarified that the only issue for discussion before the Commission is the issue
of the basketball hoops. He concurs with staffs suggestion of the half courts relocated to the eastern
side of the parking lot until after the construction of the church buildings. He also favors the use
of portable hoops that have to be removed from the courts.

Commissioner Cooper recognizes the impact of the basketball courts to the neighbors in their present
position. He inquired if the locking bar mechanism could be applied to the portable basketball
standards so that they would not have to be moved daily, only at the end of the summer. Otherwise,
he supports staff recommendation to move the courts.

Commissioner McGuirk's opinion is that the only option available to the church is to remove the
basketball hoops (or render them non-usabl!) when not in use by church groups.

Commissioner Dove concurs with the staff recommendation and suggested an additional condition
be added stating that next summer this situation needs to be reviewed.

Mr. Iserson noted that the portable hoops would have to be moved off the parking lot because they
take up a large portion of the parking.

Commissioner Wright motioned, seconded by Commissioner Cooper, recommending approval
of Case Z-96-40 subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit B.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Cooper, Dove, Wright, and Vice-Chairperson Barker
Commissioner McGuirk
Chairman Lutz
None

Resolution No. PC 96-40 was entered approving Case Z-96-40, as motioned.

d.
