<br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Resolution No. PC 96-32 was entered rmding that the City purchase of three vacant parcels <br />in the Hacienda Business Park for development of a City-owned park is consistent with the <br />rleasanton General rlan, as motioned. <br /> <br />A short break was taken at 8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />f. Review of the 1996 Pleasanton General Plan UDdate <br /> <br />Commissioner Barker asked staff if any changes were recommended for Del Valle Parkway. <br />Mr. Rasmussen stated the General Plan Steering Committee's recommendation was to keep its <br />current alignment of Stanley Boulevard, adding a traffic signal at Del Valle and Main Street to <br />help traffic flow. In response to a question from Commissioner Barker regarding Rose Avenue, <br />Mr. Rasmussen noted that Rose Avenue is shown in the existing General Plan to extend through <br />to V alley Avenue; the Circulation Subcommittee and General Plan Steering Committee made no <br />changes with regard to Rose Avenue. <br /> <br />V. Public Safety Element <br /> <br />Page V-16, Program 7.1: Staff advised this is the current practice of staff to maintain a listing <br />of geotechnical consultants. <br /> <br />Page V-17, Program 7.6: Commissioner Wright suggested to delete this program. Mr. <br />Rasmussen stated the intent was for consultants to do an overall evaluation of potential <br />geological risks in the area, providing feedback to staff and the City Council as to the potential <br />risk of approving projects of certain types. Considerable discussion resulted about the <br />appropriateness of such studies. Consensus was to keep program as written. <br /> <br />Page V-19, Program 13.5: Fire resistivity of roof coverings was discussed. No changes were <br />made to the program. <br /> <br />Page V-19, Policy 14: Discussion regarding Del Valle Dam being the only reservoir which <br />would affect our area. <br /> <br />Page V-20, Policy 16: Commissioner Hovingh recommended deletion of the transportation <br />aspects in this hazardous materials policy, believing it was covered by federal law . Considerable <br />discussion ensued whether transportation is regulated by the City.
