Commissioner Wright concurred with staffs finding that this type of color band around an . entire building is seen more on industrial/warehouse buildings. Commissioner Barker also commented that she feels the black towers are a bit overwhelming. She wondered if there was some way to keep some of the black coloration other than the black lettering. Considerable discussion of the black band around the store and corporate color identity ensued. PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED Mr. Borges advised that after discussions with the owner, they have agreed to follow staff's recommendation and utilize black lettering. They will work with staff on signage, and also asked for consideration on the signage relocation because the tower size was designed with the sign incorporated. PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED Mr. Cannon stated he believes the balance of the building will not be changed by the relocation of the signage, and agrees with the recommendations of staff. Commissioner Wright motioned, seconded by Commissioner Hovingh, recommending approval of Case PUD-85-8-8D, subject tot he conditions of approval listed in Exhibit B, with the following modifications: . Condition 12: Change "western building-mounted sign" to "northern building-mounted sign". Condition 15: Change "No future restaurant use" to "No future restaurant or other retail use".
