REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson requested the Commission continue Item 6.a., UP-97-45/Z-97-I8I, Greg Munn, to <br />September 24, noting that after the staff report was prepared some neighbors had brought forward <br />some issues that need to be resolved and that the applicant is out of the country. Mr. Iserson also <br />noted that Item 6.f., Request to exempt the traffic generated by a proposed day care use from the <br />City's traffic requirements at the Hopyard Road/Owens Drive intersection, was withdrawn by the <br />applicant. Chair Cooper advised that Commissioner Barker requested that Item 7.a., "Design Review <br />Committee Survey Results," be continued to September 10 so that she can be present. <br /> <br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br />There were none. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />a. UP-97-45/Z-97-181. Gre!!: Munn <br />Application for a conditional use permit and design review approval to construct an <br />approximately 900 square foot second unit located at 2824 Foothill Oaks Terrace. Zoning for <br />the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - LDR (Low Density Residential) District. <br /> <br />This item was continued to the September 24 meeting. <br /> <br />b. UP-97-49. Hosnital Consortium Education Network <br />Application for a conditional use permit to establish a continuing educational facility (trade <br />school) for health care professionals located at 4811 Hopyard Road. Zoning for the property <br />is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - I1C-O (Industrial/Commercial-Office) District. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report describing the proposed use and reviewing land use, traffic, and <br />parking information related to this project. He advised that staff believes that the use permit findings <br />can be made and recommends approval subject to the conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Rebecca Peterson, Vice President of the Hospital Consortium Education Network, 1600 Trousdale <br />Drive, Burlingame, represented the application. She provided background on the organization and <br />the expansion of the company. She advised that there are 13 sponsoring member hospitals around <br />the Bay Area and that Valley Care will be the 14th. She described the hours of operation, noting that <br />the applicant would be able to comply with the hours stated in the staff report. She also commented <br />that the available parking would be sufficient for the use. <br /> <br />Chair Cooper asked if the use would include laboratory classes. Ms. Peterson advised that CPR/life- <br />saving classes would be conducted utilizing mannequins. She confirmed that no hazardous materials <br />would be used. <br /> <br />In response to a question from Commissioner Kumaran, Mr. Iserson advised that the parking in <br />Gateway Square is open and that there are no spaces assigned to specific businesses.
