<br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />There were none. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />a. UP-97-18. Carden West School <br />Application for a conditional use permit to expand Carden West School into an approximately <br />1,200 square foot suite located at 4466A Black Avenue. Zoning for the property is 0 (Office) <br />District. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report on the application for a conditional use permit to expand <br />Carden West School into an approximately 1,200 square feet suite located in an existing office <br />building adjacent to the school site. The site is located at 4466A Black Avenue. <br /> <br />The school is wishing to occupy an office suite for a computer lab, small library, administrative <br />offices, and staff lounge. About two or three employees would use this portion of the building for <br />school activities. About seven full-time and two part-time teachers would use the staff lounge. <br />About nine children would be escorted to and from the office suite by staff for use of the library and <br />computer center. They would also be escorted to the restroom. The office suite would be occupied <br />from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. <br /> <br />Staff feels the school use would be consistent with the office uses. No comments were received by <br />staff from adjacent residential neighbors or other office tenants. <br /> <br />Staff feels the use permit findings can be made and recommend approval of this conditional use <br />permit subject to the conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Abbie da Roza, represented the Carden West application.
