MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Lutz advised that the letter concerning the Presley application was received so late
that if they had wanted to appeal the decision the letter arrived too late to take action. Staff advised
that the Code allows an appeal process if the regularly scheduled meeting falls after the appeal
period.

Commissioner Lutz stated he is amazed at the small trees and the number of dead trees at Golden
Eagle. Can we get the trees replaced? Mr. Beougher thought the City was going to accept the
public improvements; however, the trees are not considered public improvements. Mr. Higdon
stated the homeowners are going to take over the responsibility of the trees and will replace them.

Commissioner Dove inquired about the reduction in the water tank storage. Staff advised the reason
for the reduction in tank capacity is that the Moller Ranch project has built their own tank on their
property.

Commissioner Wright advised that Britannia Phase 5 has a trailer on site that appears to be lived in.

Commissioner Cooper stated the bike trails are not accessible to all residents of Pleasanton, and he
inquired if the Commission would like to go on record supporting the trail system as being a high
priority. Mr. Beougher advised that the bridge has run into numerous problems with the bridge
contractor not meeting compliance. Mr. Higdon also advised the trail system won't open until the

Planning CommISSIOn Minutes

Page 7

April 23, 1997
