Jane Perkins <br />Application for a conditional use permit to allow two massage therapists operating Monday <br />through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. located at 1811 Santa Rita Road, Suite 112. <br />Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - C (Commercial) District. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report on the application for a conditional use permit to operate a <br />massage therapy business within an existing building at 1811 Santa Rita Road, Suite 112, by Jane <br />Perkins, d.b.a. Stress Break. The zoning is PUD-C (Planned United Development - Commercial). <br /> <br />A minor correction to the staff report (per staff memo dated April 9, 1997) is that there are two <br />existing massage therapy suites in this office building at this time. This application will make a total <br />of three businesses. <br /> <br />The applicant's business involves therapeutic massage for injuries, rehabilitation, stress relief, etc. <br />It will be located in a 416 square foot suite, which consists of two offices and a common reception <br />area. Another therapist will be working with the applicant. The hours of operation will be 9 am <br />to 9 pm, Monday through Saturday. About 40 clients are estimated to be served per week. <br /> <br />~ As proposed by the applicant, the business will be operated in a quiet manner that will be consistent <br />with the office nature of the building and the surrounding uses. Staff feels this use is an appropriate <br />land use. <br /> <br />Staff has determined that there is sufficient parking available for this business. <br /> <br />The applicant is required to register with the Pleasanton Police Department. <br /> <br />There have been no objections from the property owners and tenants within three hundred feet of the <br />subject property. <br /> <br />Based on the above findings, staff recommended approval of the conditional use permit, UP-97-15, <br />subject to the conditions of approval. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Jane Perkins represented her conditional use permit application, noting that she has read and agrees <br />with all the conditions of approval. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright motioned, seconded by Commissioner Cooper, making the conditional <br />use permit findings and approving Case UP-97-15, subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit B. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />April 9, 1997 <br />
