<br />Staff feels the proposed one-story building will fit in well with the surrounding two-story buildings. <br />The building design details include spandrel glass elements, score lines, trellises, recessed and <br />repeating window bays, screened HV AC equipment. Building signs are not proposed; monument <br />signs will be reviewed in the future. <br /> <br />Staff is recommending approval, subject to the conditions in Exhibit B, with the deletion of Condition <br />10. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cooper inquired if the hours of construction could be extended later, as late as 8 pm <br />if the applicant deisres. Staff felt the construction could start as early as 6 am if the applicant <br />desires. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Stephen Fee, 320 Taylor Avenue, Alameda, represented this application. The applicants do not have <br />any issues concerning the conditions of approval. The 7 am construction start time is acceptable to <br />them. <br /> <br />Mr. Fee stated that the trellises on the building corners do not have the wood cedar elements. <br /> <br />In response to Chair Barker, they will look at adding bicycle racks. In the past, the City <br />Council has waived City fees for affordable housing projects on a case-by-case basis.
