17.700 Outdoor St~e. and .Billboards. <br /> <br /> 17,701 No person shall post, paint or othez~tse fasten any sign <br /> o~ any kind, £actng or visible £rom any public street in the City of <br /> Pleasanton, except as permitted by this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> 17.702 No sign shall create a traffic hazard by obstructing vision; <br /> or. shall interfere with any authorized traffic sign. <br /> <br /> 17,703 Set-backs (for all front yards) shall apply to signs and <br />billboards, except that setback shall be increased as follows: For every <br />square foot by which such signs or billboards exceed 80 square feet, add <br />~ Eoot, but not more than 60 feet. <br /> <br /> At the intersection of any State or Federal highways krlth a major or <br />secondary thoroughfare, the setback of any billboard shall be at least 100 <br />feet ~rcnn the established or planned future right-of-way of such highway or <br />street. No free standing sign shall be erected ~rlthtn 500 feet of a State <br />or Inter-State Freeway. <br /> <br /> 17.70~ No such sign shall be permitted which faces any R-District <br />vithin 100 feet of such R-District or faces any public parkway, public <br />square or entrance to any public parks, publlc or parochial school, library, <br />church, or similar institution, within 100 feet thereof. <br /> <br /> 17.705 Permitted Sign Uses. <br /> <br /> 1. One non-illuminated real estate sign advertising the sale, <br />rental, or lease of the premises not over 6 sq. ~t. in area shall be <br />permitted. For each 10 feet additional lot width over 50 feet or t~o or <br />mote contiguous lots in single ovnership exceeding 50 f~et. I square foot <br />may be added to the area., but in no case shall such area exceed 30 sq. <br />All such signs shall set back at least the depth of the required front <br />yard. Not more than 4 additional tract signs complying vlth the above re- <br />quirements may be located on each major or secondary thoroughfare surround- <br />ing the tract, <br /> <br /> 2. Announcement or professional signs shall not be over 2 <br />sq. ft. in area. A church, school, community center, or other public or <br />institutional building ~ayhave for its ovnuse an announcement sign or <br />bulletin board not over 12 sqo ft. in area, which shall be at least 12 feet <br />from all street lines. <br /> <br /> 17.706 No sign or sign structure shall exceed 25 feet in height <br />above existing grade, or 300 sq. ft. in area, except in the '~' or 'I-P' <br />Districts. <br /> <br /> 17.707 Signs, moving signs, flashing lights and sign structures may <br />be permitted for a set time period as a term of the conditional use <br />permit in the various districts allotting signs. <br /> <br /> 36 <br /> <br /> <br />
