Chair and Vice Chair 2026 Page 1 of 1 November 19, 2025 <br /> <br /> <br /> Energy and Environment Commission <br />Agenda Report <br /> November 19, 2025 <br /> Item 5 <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Selection of Energy and Environment Commission Chair and Vice Chair for <br />2026 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION <br />Annually, the Energy and Environment Commission elects a Chairperson and Vice <br />Chairperson. The Chair will preside and facilitate Commission meetings, with the Vice Chair <br />presiding in the Chair's absence. Pursuant to the Commission’s enacting legislation <br />(Ordinance 2275), the Commission Chair and Vice Chair are selected by a majority vote of the <br />Commission during the last regular meeting of the year. Accordingly, the Commission shall <br />select a Chair and Vice Chair. <br /> <br />Commissioners may nominate candidates for the Chair and Vice Chair positions. Historically, <br />Commission members have rotated the Chair and Vice Chair responsibilities. Those selected <br />begin service in January and shall serve in the positions for one year.
