13 <br />Task 6.8. Constructability Reviews <br />Mark Thomas’ Construction Management Division engineers will conduct constructability review of the contract <br />documents relative to issues that could impact the actual construction process, including standards, intersystem <br />compatibility, subsurface information, existing facilities and utilities, interfaces with existing operations and other <br />construction projects, access, egress, availability of proposed building materials, long lead procurement and <br />labor sources. The goal of the constructability review is to improve the ease of construction, which in turn may <br />reduce cost and/or time, as well as ensuring proper funding reimbursement. <br />Constructability Review of the plans, specifications and engineer’s estimate will take place at the 65% and <br />95% Plan submittal. This work includes: <br />• A field review of the Project limits. This field review will assist in comparing the planned improvements <br />to the existing field conditions. <br />• Review of the Project plans, special provisions, technical provisions and estimate for possible errors <br />and deficiencies. Create a tracking spreadsheet to ensure any action items are properly sent to the <br />appropriate party for review and any corrections made. <br />• Review of the Project estimate and quantities to ensure efficient utilization of funds and control of <br />Project costs. <br />• Assist in the development of a construction project schedule using the project plans and <br />specifications. Provide recommendations to ensure efficiency of Contractor operations and safe and <br />expeditious completion of the Project. <br />TASK 6 DELIVERABLE(S): <br />• PS&E (65%, 95%, 100% (Pre-final)) (2-11”x17” plan sets) <br />• Final (Bid Set) Plans (1 - 24”x36” Hardcopy and AutoCAD format) <br />• Final (Bid Set) Specifications (Hardcopy and MS Word format) <br />• Final Estimate (Hardcopy and MS Excel format) <br />• Draft and Final Storm Water Control Plan (SCP), including SMP, and Clean Bay Blueprint <br />• Draft and Final Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) <br />• Peer Review of 65%, 95%, and 100% (pre-final) Plans <br />• Constructability Review Comments and Comment Resolutions for the 65% and 95% PS&E <br />• All deliverables to be submitted electronically in .pdf format unless otherwise noted <br /> <br />Task 7. Design Support During Bidding <br />Construction bidding procedures are the responsibility of the City. Mark Thomas will provide engineering services <br />to support the construction bidding phase of the project as described herein. The bid procurement duration is <br />estimated to be three months after the project is advertised for construction. <br />Task 7.1. Bid Document Revisions <br />Mark Thomas and subconsultants will provide clarification of the design, provide information in response to <br />bidders’ questions regarding the Bid Documents, and attend the pre-bid meeting and other meetings as <br />requested by the City. As the actual level of effort is unknown at this time a budget has been provided but this <br />will be billed on an as-needed time and materials basis. <br />Task 7.2. Bid Addenda <br />Mark Thomas and subconsultants will prepare addenda to the Bid Documents, if requested by the City.
