Sewer Station S-14 Electrical Improvements, CIP No. 24265
The existing sanitary sewer Lift Station S-14 was flooded during the January 2023 storm. The
storm damaged the below-grade electrical gear and control panel. Under a separate on-call
agreement, staff authorized Frisch Engineering, Inc. for the not-to-exceed amount of $53,480
to provide design services to install a new above-ground grade MCC (Machine Control
Center), conduit and wiring, concrete pad, and SCADA integration. The City applied for a
FEMA grant for the mitigation effort to bring the lift station’s MCC above ground. If approved by
FEMA, up to 75 percent of the construction cost is anticipated to be reimbursed by FEMA. The
estimated total cost of this project is $700,000 including the design and construction. The
funding is included in the Sewer Station S-14 Electrical Improvements Project, CIP No. 24265.

Park Pathway Restoration (Alviso Adobe and Tawny Parks), CIP No. 24679
Heavy rainfall and surface water flooding eroded the pedestrian trail at Alviso Adobe Park, and
during debris removal activities, the adjacent sidewalk was cracked by heavy equipment at
Tawny Park. The City applied for a mitigation effort to repair both parks’ pathways. The
estimated cost to repair the damaged parks’ pathways is $150,000. The City’s Engineering
Division will design the work.

City Funded Projects
Puri Court Storm Drain Improvements (formerly Annual Storm Repair/Replacement), CIP No.
24415
Under a separate on-call agreement, staff authorized Pakpour Consulting Group, Inc. for the
amount of $60,630 to provide design services to replace approximately 500 linear feet of
existing storm drain pipe with 48-inch reinforced concrete pipe for the Puri Court storm drain
improvements. The existing storm drain pipe in Puri Court varies between 24 and 30 inches.
The estimated total cost of this project is $1.75 million including the design and construction.

Sassafras Court Storm Drain Interceptor (formerly Design and Construct Storm Drain), CIP No.
22484
The project will install a vault to capture and remove debris prior to entering the Oak Tree
Manor storm drain. The sizing of the vault will be based on the operational parameters of a
standard excavator used to remove debris from the vault. The estimated total cost of this
project is $600,000 including the design and construction. ENGEO will perform the design
support services.

Sycamore Creek Storm Improvements (Sunol Boulevard), CIP No. 24662
The project will perform a hydraulic analysis and a feasibility study to determine the extent of
necessary storm drain improvements to mitigate future flooding associated with Sycamore
Creek. Sycamore Road at Sunol Boulevard experienced localized flooding in 2017 and in
2023. The estimated cost for the feasibility study is $96,000. The anticipated project will install
approximately 775 to 850 feet of a new parallel 60- or 72-inch diameter storm drain line in
Sunol Boulevard from Sycamore Road to Sycamore Creek and develop a new outfall. The
anticipated cost, excluding easements, is $4 to $5 million. ENGEO will perform the hydraulic
modeling and feasibility study.

Sycamore Creek Storm Improvements (Sycamore Road), CIP No. 24680
Based on the hydraulic analysis and feasibility study, the storm drain line in Sycamore Road
DocuSign Envelope ID: CEB20404-63F8-4DC5-AE6A-C5FC89DB6F87
