Pleasanton Partners in Education (PPIE) Requested Funds: $7,500
PPIE STEAM Grants 24/25 Tentative Votes: 11 for / 1 against
Average Funding: $4,750
Staff Recommendation: $3,900
Program Description:
PPIE is committed to supporting and fostering student growth both inside and outside of the
classroom. As we develop lifelong learners, we want to focus on being able to widen the
number of grants we can give to teachers, clubs, and organizations that submit proposals to us
each year, as well as market and develop our program to better expand the awareness of the
program and give more students the chance to apply. The student groups are then able to use
these grants to further pursue their education and invest in what they are passionate about.

Staff Comments:
The application and all documents were completed and submitted on time. With a request of
$7,500 and an estimated number of 6000 youth served in Pleasanton, the cost per
resident is $1.25.

This grant meets Youth Master Plan Goal 1 - Prepared Youth, 2 - Healthy and Safe Youth.

Pleasanton Unified School District Requested Funds: $7,500
Transportation Support for Students Tentative Votes: 10 for / 1 against
Average Funding: $4,427
Staff Recommendation: $4,200
Program Description:
Pleasanton Unified School District is seeking financial support for providing transportation
assistance to PUSD students who are in financial need. Our community is home to many
bright and motivated students who face challenges in accessing reliable transportation to and
from school, hindering their ability to attend classes regularly and engage fully in their
education.

Staff Comments:
The application and all documents were completed and submitted on time. This applicant
was unable to provide a number of residents to be served with this project stating that
“the number of unduplicated Pleasanton residents that will be served by this project will
vary based on what type of transportation support is provided”.

This grant meets Youth Master Plan Goal 1 - Prepared Youth and 5 - Supportive Families and
Communities.

Teen Esteem Requested Funds: $7,500
Fall 2024 PUSD Elementary/Middle/High School Tentative Votes: 10 for / 1 against
And Parent Presentations Average Funding: $4,277
Staff Recommendation: $3,800
