Scope of Work <br /> Preparation of Plans,Specifications and Estimates <br /> Sunol Boulevard/1-680 Improvements Project <br /> August 21,2023 <br /> Reviews and Submittals <br /> • AECOM will submit technical reports in draft, revised draft incorporating <br /> Caltrans and the City's comments, and in final form,unless otherwise specified. <br /> • The total number of plan sheets is assumed to be approximately 180. <br /> Landscapine/Aesthetics <br /> • Advanced separate tree removal contract is not included. <br /> • Landscaping and Irrigation for private properties will not be included in the <br /> project. <br /> • Landscape improvement work will not be a separate contract. <br /> • Aesthetic treatment will be required for the retaining walls and other structures, as <br /> documented in the IS/MND (AMM-AES-01). <br /> Environmental/Permittina <br /> • The PS&E design will not result in any major new or substantially worsened <br /> impacts relative to those identified in the IS/1VIND, such that a new environmental <br /> document or additional public review is warranted. <br /> • The project will receive federal funding from FHWA in sufficient time to allow <br /> Caltrans to submit the Biological Assessment to the USFWS for a Biological <br /> Opinion, which is needed for all other permit applications. Section 10 <br /> consultation and/or project permitting through nonfederal means such as the East <br /> Alameda County Conservation Strategy will require a revised scope and cost. <br /> • Three state and federally listed threatened and endangered species will require <br /> evaluation in permit applications (California red-legged frog, California tiger <br /> salamander, and Alameda whipsnake). Species that become state or federally <br /> listed, including current candidate species, after execution of this contract are not <br /> included in this scope. <br /> • The need to inventory up to 20 additional trees is assumed to account for changes <br /> in the project impact/footprint or regulatory permit requirements. <br /> • All of the project's compensatory mitigation requirements can be fulfilled at <br /> mitigation banks. Development of a turn-key/permittee-responsible mitigation <br /> project is not included. <br /> • All permit application fees will be paid by the City. <br /> • Encroachment permit applications to perform design activities within State and <br /> the City right of way will be prepared by AECOM for the City's signature. <br /> Rip-ht of Way Support <br /> • The Encroachment Policy Variance Request that , pre-approved during the <br /> PA&ED phase, will be updated and resubmitted for approval. One updated draft <br /> and one final submittal for approval is assumed. <br /> Page 41 of 42 <br />
