Scope of Work <br /> Preparation of Plans,Specifications and Estimates <br /> Sunol Boulevard/I-680 Improvements Project <br /> August 21,2023 <br /> Task 3.3 Design Exceptions <br /> AECOM will review the Project to assess the need for additional Boldface and <br /> Underlined design exceptions that may be required prior to commencing detailed <br /> design work. Additional design exceptions, if discovered, will be submitted as a list at <br /> the 65% PS&E Phase. <br /> Task 3.4 Electrical Design <br /> AECOM will prepare the electrical plans. The scope of electrical plans will include <br /> design of signal and lighting system, modifying signal and lighting system, modifying <br /> ramp metering systems, modifying lighting systems, flashing beacon system, <br /> interconnect conduit and cable, City Street lighting. <br /> AECOM will assist the City to identify the appropriate lighting along the pedestrian <br /> pathway within the project limits. The level of effort assumes that the use of the City <br /> or Caltrans Standard Plans. Roadway lighting analysis will be performed to determine <br /> adequate lighting along the corridors in accordance with the City or Caltrans standard <br /> and requirements. <br /> Plans and specifications will be developed using the applicable City Standard <br /> Specification and Details; and Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications. Caltrans <br /> and the City will review this submittal and provide comments for incorporation into <br /> subsequent submittals. This scope assumes we will receive one set of comments from <br /> each agency at each review level. <br /> Electrical Service for project elements: AECOM will prepare electrical load <br /> calculations and assist the City with submitting them to the utility company to verify <br /> service point locations and capabilities. <br /> AECOM will assist the City to coordinate with PG&E and prepare service <br /> applications. <br /> Assumptions include, but are not limited to the following: <br /> • Signal timing will not be included as part of the Electrical Design scope of work. <br /> • Signal interconnect requirements to be provided by the City. <br /> • Cameras for monitoring intersections not included in electrical design. <br /> • Temporary electrical plans during construction not included. <br /> Task 3.5 Unchecked Structure Plans <br /> Upon approval of the Type Selection Report, AECOM will proceed with the final <br /> retaining walls and bridge widening design creating design calculations, details <br /> and construction documents according to Caltrans. <br /> The structure plans and estimate will be prepared in accordance with the current <br /> editions of the following Caltrans manuals: <br /> • OSFP Information and Procedures Guide <br /> • Memo to Designers <br /> Page 19 of 42 <br />
