7. EOC DIRECTOR ORDER OF SUCCESSION <br /> 1. City Manager <br /> 2. Assistant City Manager <br /> 3. Deputy City Manager <br /> 4. Police Chief <br /> 5. Fire Chief <br /> 6. Director of Community Development <br /> 8. EMPLOYEE RESPONSE <br /> Pursuant to California Government Code Section 3100, every City of Pleasanton <br /> employee is required to provide services as a Disaster Service Worker. Upon <br /> notification of a warning or knowledge of a disaster, all officers and employees of <br /> the City will be charged with the duties relating to the protection of life and <br /> property. City staff may be requested to modify shift schedules, return to work, <br /> remain at work, or perform different work assignments. If at home when a <br /> disaster occurs, it is expected that employees will ensure the safety and security <br /> of families and homes, and then return to work. <br /> In the event of a disaster or emergency all City employees, contingent upon <br /> health and safe passage, are expected to be ready to report for instruction, <br /> whether in person or virtually. Certain staff have been pre-assigned to perform a <br /> specific function in the City of Pleasanton EOC (as a primary or alternate), or at <br /> other locations, and are expected to report to the designated location when <br /> called upon. <br /> Instruction may be to report to the EOC, in person or virtually, to report to another <br /> designated location, or to wait for further information and instructions. Following <br /> initial notification regarding activation of the EOC, location and details of <br /> reporting, and which employees need to report, every attempt will be made to <br /> keep employees up to date using multiple sources including through a recorded <br /> information line for employees only - (925-931-5593). <br /> In the rare circumstance when communications are out of service and notification <br /> may not be possible with the use of the usual methods (phone, radio, digital) <br /> employees should report to their usual work site. If the usual work site is not <br /> available or accessible an alternate location will be determined. <br /> 9. PUBLIC INFORMATION <br /> To keep the community safe and informed, and in the interest of maintaining <br /> open and transparent public communications, the public information function will <br /> make every effort to disseminate timely, consistent, and accurate information to <br /> the news media and public. <br /> 4 <br />
