0735687 Engine Brake, Fully Integrated,
Paccar MX13 Engine

ENGINE BRAKE
The compression release brake option is a fully integrated MX engine braking system. It utilizes
the turbocharger and backpressure valve, but adds in a hydraulically operated compression
brake to increase overall retarding power.
To maximize the effectiveness of the compression brake the MX engine brake system works in
conjunction with the turbocharger and back pressure valve.
The driver will be able to turn the engine brake system on/off and have a high, medium and low
setting
0684163 Clutch, Fan, Air Actuated, Horton
Drive Master, Constant On Sw,
Indicator
CLUTCH FAN
A Horton clutch fan will be provided. Clutch fan will have an on/off switch with indicator light in
the cab to engage the fan in a "constant on" mode.
Switch will be located As per IP layout.
0657451 Heater, 1500 Watt Immersion,
Thermostatically Controlled,
Shoreline
ENGINE HEATER
A 1,500 watt, 120 volt, immersion type engine heater will be installed. The AC power inlet will be
connected to the shoreline. The heater is thermostatically controlled.
0644573 Air Intake, Water & Ember Screen,
Saber FR/Enforcer
ENGINE AIR INTAKE
The engine air intake will be located above the engine cooling package. It will draw fresh air from
the front of the apparatus through the radiator grille.
The ember separator is designed to prevent road dirt and recirculating hot air from entering the
engine.
The ember separator will be easily accessible by tilting the cab.
0794743 Exhaust System, 5", X12/X15, MX13,
Engine, Horizontal, Right Side

EXHAUST SYSTEM
The exhaust system will include a Single Moduleā¢ aftertreatment device to meet current EPA
standards. The exhaust system will be stainless steel from the turbo to the inlet of the
aftertreatment device, and will be 5.00" in diameter. An insulation wrap will be provided on all
exhaust pipes between the turbo and aftertreatment device to minimize the heat loss to the
aftertreatment device. The exhaust will terminate horizontally ahead of the right side rear wheels.
A tailpipe diffuser will be provided to reduce the temperature of the exhaust as it exits. Heat
deflector shields will be provided to isolate chassis and body components from the heat of the
tailpipe diffuser.
0683310 Diffuser, Exhaust, Modified For
Extraction, 5"x7"x5", Flush With Rub
Rail, CARE
EXHAUST MODIFICATION
The exhaust pipe will be 90 degrees to the body.
The diffuser will be reduced to 5.00" in the center to accommodate the fire department's air
recovery system. The 5.00" extension pipe coming out of the end of the diffuser will be flush with
the body rub rail. There will be a minimum of 4.00" clearance between the top of the 5.00"
extension and the bottom of the body.
There will be a minimum of 2.50" from the exhaust pipe to the under side of the body heat shield.
The last 7.00" of the exhaust will be free of hangers and/or clamps.
0788765 Radiator, Saber FR/Enforcer

RADIATOR
The radiator and the complete cooling system will meet or exceed NFPA and engine
manufacturer cooling system standards.
For maximum corrosion resistance and cooling performance, the entire radiator core will be
constructed using long life aluminum alloy. The radiator core will consist of aluminum fins, having
a serpentine design, brazed to aluminum tubes.
The radiator core will have a minimum front area of 1060 square inches.
Supply tank will be made of heavy duty glass-reinforced nylon and the return tank will be mode of
aluminum. Both tanks will be crimped onto the core assembly using header tabs and a
compression gasket to complete the radiator core assembly. There will be a full steel frame
around the inserts to enhance cooling system durability and reliability.
The radiator will be compatible with commercial antifreeze solutions.
The radiator assembly will be isolated from the chassis frame rails with rubber isolators to prevent
the development of leaks caused by twisting or straining when the apparatus operates over
uneven terrain.
The radiator will include a de-aeration/expansion tank. For visual coolant level inspection, the
radiator will have a built-in sight glass. The radiator will be equipped with a 15 psi pressure relief
cap.
A drain port will be located at the lowest point of the cooling system and/or the bottom of the
radiator to permit complete flushing of the coolant from the system.
Shields or baffles will be provided to prevent recirculation of hot air to the inlet side of the radiator.
9717Bid #:
