r
r
r
T'r
-AG
.'tlIf111Rw.•"
Figure 3 - Recycled Water Booster Station
The turnout and prefabricated booster station will be designed by Woodard & Curran,
which also designed the City's recycled water system and recycled water booster
station. The turnout, site improvements and booster station are anticipated to be in
service by the end of 2024. Based on material availability, the manufacturing time is
approximately 12-18 months after approval of shop drawings. In addition, new electrical
service from PG&E will be required, which is anticipated to also take the same 12-18
months following the electrical design.
Stoneridge Drive 20-Inch Water Main (F-1 Line)
A new 20-inch water line is needed on Stoneridge Drive from Hopyard Road to Johnson
Drive (approximately 3,500 linear feet) to increase the capacity of the existing 12-inch
and 16-inch water lines currently in the roadway feed from Turnout 4 (Figure 4). The
existing 12-inch asbestos concrete pipe built before the 1960s is nearing the end of its
useful life and will be recommended for replacement as part of the Water System
Master Plan. Also recommended is to increase the new water line size from 20 inches
to 24 inches to replace the capacity of the 12-inch line when it is decommissioned. This
will increase the estimated cost from $440 per linear foot to $525 per linear foot. A new,
12-inch water line is estimated at $330 per linear foot, and installing the upsized line will
provide a cost savings of$245 per linear foot. The price per linear foot is only the cost
directly related to the pipe installation and does not reflect the complete costs of the
project. Regardless of pipe size, the other costs, which include traffic control, pavement
restoration, survey and overhead, will remain similar. The new water line will parallel the
existing water lines in Stoneridge Drive but will be placed deeper to accommodate the
future decommissioning of the 12-inch line. Woodard & Curran will design the booster
station, the Zone 7 turnout and the Stoneridge Drive water main on a time and material
basis for a not-to-exceed amount of$666,365 (see Attachment 3).
