J0?_0 Woodard & Curran
APPROACH
Our approach includes, but is not limited to the following tasks:
1. Woodard&Curran will evaluate and document the following key design issues:
• Pump Type and Sizing(including Number of Pumps)
• Coordinate Pre-packaged Pump Selection and Specifications with Pump Manufacturers
including, but not limited to the following:
o Xylem
o Pentair
o Grundfos
o Sulzer
o Trillium
o Flowserve
• Flow and Hydraulics
• Topographic Design Survey—Field and Office Work for the existing Turnout Site(Booster
Pump Station)
• Aerials and GIS Data will be used for the Discharge Piping Plan Views
• Utilities Research for Pump Station and Pipeline
• Pump Station Hydraulic Calculations and Analysis
• Transient Analysis
• Backup Generator Sizing(Portable)
• New Electrical Service(if required)
• Preliminary and Final Technical Memorandum(Basis of Design)
• Front End Documents Preparation
• Special Provisions Preparation(CSI Technical Specifications)
o One Package for the Procurement of the Package Pump Station
o Second Package for the Construction Bid Documents
• Complete Design Drawings Package Including the Following:
o Basis of Design
o Civil
o Mechanical
o Pipeline Sheets
o Electrical
o Instrumentation
o Structural
2. Hydraulic calculations will be included and substantiated for the new booster pump station that
will convey potable water to the Foothill Reservoir, which is 8 million gallons in capacity. The
modeling for various scenarios will be done by AEG.
7
