employer share (12% total employee contribution) for the Ca1PERS 3% @ 50 local <br /> safety plan. <br /> Effective July 11, 2020, Tier 1 Classic employees shall contribute an additional one- <br /> half percent (0.5%) of their Ca1PERS reportable compensation toward the employer <br /> share(12.5%total employee contribution)for the Ca1PERS 3%@ 50 local safety plan. <br /> B. Employees hired on or after December 22,2012 (Tier 2 Classic) <br /> Employees hired on or after December 22, 2012 and before January 1, 2013, and <br /> employees hired on or after January 1, 2013 who are otherwise "classic" employees, <br /> are provided the Ca1PERS 3%@ 55 local safety with the 36-month final compensation <br /> period. Such employees shall contribute 9.0% of their Ca1PERS reportable <br /> compensation towards the employee share and an additional 3.0% of their CalPERS <br /> reportable compensation towards the employer share (12.5% total employee <br /> contribution) for the Ca1PERS 3%@ 55 local safety pian. <br /> C. Employees hired on or after January 1,2013 (Tier 3 New-PEPRA) <br /> Fire safety management employees hired on or after January 1, 2013 and considered <br /> "new members" by Ca1PERS shall be provided the Ca1PERS 2.7% @ 57 local safety <br /> plan with the 36-month final compensation period. Such employees shall contribute <br /> 50%of the normal cost for the 2.7%@ 57 local safety plan as established by Ca1PERS. <br /> 13.2 Additional Retirement Benefits <br /> All employees shall receive the following additional contracted for optional Ca1PERS benefits: <br /> Section 20965,Credit for Unused Sick Leave <br /> Section 21574, 1959 Survivors Benefit, Fourth Level <br /> Section 21548, Pre-retirement Option 2W Death Benefit <br /> 13.3 Pre-tax Employee Contribution <br /> All contributions paid by employees towards the cost of Ca1PERS pension benefits will be deducted <br /> on a pre-tax basis to the extent permitted by law. <br /> Section 14. Uniforms <br /> Annual uniform allowance shall be one thousand ($1,000.00)dollars. The uniform allowance will be <br /> paid in equal biweekly installments in accordance with California Government Code Section 20363. <br /> The amount the City contributes toward the uniform allowance is subject to federal and state income <br /> tax withholding. <br /> 14.1 Payment <br /> The uniform allowance shall be paid in employee paychecks.
