Recently completed in 2019, the Kottinger Gardens housing project provides over 180 <br />affordable senior units.10 Larger facilities for low and very low-income seniors that offer housing <br />with services ranging from assisted living to skilled nursing include the Parkview, Eden Villa, <br />Pleasanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Sunol Creek Memory Care. The City’s <br />Housing Division provides information on assisted living facilities in Pleasanton and the <br />surrounding area that are available for low and very low-income seniors 11. Additionally, programs <br />include expansion of Universal Design standards and facilitation of reasonable accommodation <br />requests to provide housing that meets the needs of seniors. <br />Female-headed Households <br />Households headed by one person are often at greater risk of housing insecurity, particularly <br />female-headed households, who may be supporting children or a family with only one income.
