Housing Needs Assessment City of Pleasanton | A-35 <br />Figure A-24: Poverty Status by Race <br /> <br />Notes: <br />Universe: Population for whom poverty status is determined <br />The Census Bureau uses a federally defined poverty threshold that remains constant throughout the country and does not correspond <br />to Area Median Income. For this table, the Census Bureau does not disaggregate racial groups by Hispanic/Latinx ethnicity. However, <br />data for the White racial group is also reported for White householders who are not Hispanic/Latinx. Since residents who identify as <br />White and Hispanic/Latinx may have very different experiences within the housing market and the economy from those who identify <br />as White and non-Hispanic/Latinx, data for multiple White sub-groups are reported here. The racial/ethnic groups reported in this table <br />are not all mutually exclusive. Therefore, the data should not be summed as the sum exceeds the population for whom poverty status <br />is determined for this jurisdiction. Farmworkers generally receive wages that are considerably lower than other jobs and <br />may have temporary housing needs.
