BACKGROUND
On February 15, 2022, the City Manager executed a Professional Services Agreement
with AimTD, LLC to perform annual traffic counts within the city as a result of a Request
for Proposals (RFP) process. The term of this initial agreement was two years, with
three one-year extension options.
DISCUSSION
The Traffic Engineering Division collects citywide traffic count data on an annual basis.
This data is collected every spring over a two-week period at 156 intersections. The
data collected is used to update traffic models, analyze changes in traffic
volumes/modes, verify the data collected by local traffic signals, and provide a baseline
for making decisions on proposed developments and changes in the transportation
network.
This year, 16 count locations have been identified and added to the annual traffic count
intersection list. The new count locations are near schools and will allow staff to better
analyze school traffic patterns. These additional locations amount to a necessary
increase of$3,210 for the current year (year two), and an increase to the maximum
planned for years three through five. Additionally, staff is recommending that the
contract be extended for year three at this time.
The contract compensation adjustment for year two is from $27,120 to $30,330 and the
adjusted maximum for years three through five maximum is from $95,760 to $105,000,
thus requiring City Council authorization.
Sle
e by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
K11
ar Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin
Director of Community Director of Finance City Manager
Development
Attachment:
1.
