ATTACHMENT 4
Stoneridge Mall Framework
Public Comments

Provided for the City Council meeting on January 26, 2023
Page 30

I am writing to all of you and copying the City Council regarding the Stoneridge Mall Framework meeting for
Wednesday at 7pm because I feel it is important for Planning and City Council to hear these concerns..

Along with many of my neighbors, I have attended past Planning meetings as well as City Council meetings
when the Stoneridge Mall Framework has been on the agenda.

The general consensus has been that we are disappointed in the answers we have received regarding:
- our water shortage, and the impact this large number of housing units will have on our available supply,
- the impact on traffic in this corner of Pleasanton, now and once Costco is open,
- the impact on parking in the area (and adjoining businesses' parking lots) during holiday periods,
- the impact on our schools.
If you are considering building additional housing up to 1900+ units in this corner of town I feel that more
serious consideration needs to be given to these concerns.

Some additional topics that seem to be glossed over are:
- Why is the City not working more with Simon? I have no vested interested in Simon, however planning mall
developments is what they do. Why are they not more involved? At the last meeting Simon mentioned
working on projects such as this one, in other major cities. They have vast experience here and offered to
help guide the project. Have they been asked to consult, and has anyone viewed those projects?

- The open land in the Hacienda business park was mentioned at one of the meetings I attended. Why is that
land not being considered for additional housing? Traffic would certainly be less of an issue!

- For any housing built at the mall, parking for the residents has been discussed, but has parking for visitors
of those residents been discussed. Where would a visitor of those residents park if they were visiting for
several days?

- A bonus from the state has been mentioned at previous meetings, making it necessary to make decisions by
the end of January to qualify for said bonus. It would be extremely disappointing to think that a decision
would be rushed through to receive this bonus, before all of these concerns were properly addressed.

I would like to know/feel that attending all these meeting has not been a waste of time and more importantly,
that careful consideration has been given to address all of these concerns raised by members of the
surrounding neighborhood.

Thanks for your time.
Debbie Wallace
XXXX Maywood Dr.
