ATTACHMENT 4
Stoneridge Mall Framework
Public Comments

Provided for the City Council meeting on January 26, 2023
Page 29

I shudder to think what people will later think 10 years from now about what in the world the City could
have been thinking when they put this together! I think this when I am driving in San Jose and awaiting
a second redlight cycle on Steven’s Creek Boulevard or in Folsom…What were they thinking??? We now
have a chance to not be them!

Please reconsider the actual numbers involved (i.e., the science), not simply a “feeling” that this could
work. I am aware that Pleasanton is required to build several thousand housing units and I am
supportive of a reasonable plan, but this is simply too much to put in this one section of town...It just
doesn’t all fit. We already know that higher than 50 units will lead to impossible traffic conditions, and
65 will be even worse (not to mention what happens if we get the revered Density Bonus up to maybe
85-90!).

By the way, I never received a satisfactory answer as to how the traffic study for this project will be
impacted by some traffic study for the Costco project in the same general area. Just how much did my
tax dollars pay for the expert traffic study that we seem to be deciding just doesn’t provide the results
that some people were hoping for, so we can simply disregard it on a “feeling”?
I ask again…”What are we thinking??”, and hopefully we don’t look back and say... ”If I had only
known!!”

Respectfully,
John Hall
XXXX Maywood Drive
XXX.XXX.XXXX

________________________________________
From: Deborah Wallace
Sent: Sunday, January 15, 2023 12:10 PM
To: John Hall; Pattie Hall
Subject: Fwd: Planning Meeting for Stoneridge Mall Framework

Here is the email I originally sent..

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: Deborah Wallace
Date: Tue, Jan 10, 2023 at 7:18 PM
Subject: Planning Meeting for Stoneridge Mall Framework
To: sriddle@cityofpleasantonca.gov <sriddle@cityofpleasantonca.gov>, sbonn@cityofpleasantonca.gov
<sbonn@cityofpleasantonca.gov>, mdenis@cityofpleasantonca.gov <mdenis@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Cc: <citycouncil@cityofpleasantonca.gov>

Hi,
