The City currently operates seven Level 24 chargers (with 11 total ports) on a handful of
municipal properties including in City owned parking lots at the Museum on Main, City
Hall, Bernal Community Park, and within the Downtown Transportation Corridor. Level 2
chargers can charge an electric vehicle in 4-10 hours whereas a Level 3 fast charger
can refuel an electric vehicle in under one hour. The City does not operate any Level 3
chargers on municipal properties.
Expanding public availability of DCFC ports throughout the community will provide an
important amenity to the community, improve the charging network, and allow electric
vehicle adoption to continue sustained growth. This project is particularly of benefit to
Pleasanton's residents living in multi-family buildings that may not otherwise have the
opportunity to charge on site, and to visitors to City facilities who would have the
opportunity to charge their vehicles in conjunction with those visits.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines exempt specific types of
projects from environmental review. The following CEQA exemptions apply to projects
under this agreement, under CEQA, 15183 for projects consistent with a Community
Plan, General Plan, or Zoning, and 15061(b)(3) for projects having no significant effect
on the environment.
:ub i ted 'dy: Approved by:
Ellen Clark G-'ry Beaudin
Director of City Manager
Community Development
Attachments:
1.
