EXHIBIT A <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT POLICY FOR <br /> ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS <br /> I. Purpose <br /> The purpose of this policy is to establish the expense and reimbursement policy for all <br /> elected and appointed officials of the City. This policy applies to members of the City <br /> Council and members of the City's Boards, Task Forces, Commissions, and <br /> Committees ("officials"). Any member of the City's Boards, Task Forces, Commissions, <br /> and Committees must have prior approval of the respective staff liaison (who may need <br /> to obtain approval from the Department Head or City Manager) in order to be <br /> reimbursed for travel expenses under this policy. <br /> II. Authorized Travel Expenses <br /> Travel expenses incurred in connection with attending the following generally constitute <br /> authorized expenses, as long as the other requirements of this policy are met: <br /> • City-sponsored events <br /> • Educational seminars, conferences or activities of the League of California Cities <br /> ("Cal Cities") <br /> • Educational seminars, conferences or activities designed to improve the official's <br /> skill and knowledge provided that the City is a member of the organization <br /> sponsoring the activity <br /> • Educational seminars, conferences or activities designed to improve the official's <br /> skill and knowledge of other organizations with the approval of the City Manager <br /> • The following activities of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce: <br /> • State of the City <br /> • Community of Character Luncheon <br /> • Martin Luther King Fellowship Breakfast <br /> • Community Service Awards <br />
