Collection Services <br /> Franchise Agreement with Pleasanton Garbage Service <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton Page 37 June 7, 2022 <br />Contractor must submit the Organics bin order (including material and design specifications, colors, 1252 <br />and identification marks) to City for City’s written approval prior to submitting the order to the 1253 <br />manufacturer. 1254 <br />5.4.3 Holiday Tree Collection 1255 <br />A. Single-Family Customers. Contractor shall offer to each Single-Family Customer Curbside Collection 1256 <br />of holiday trees during the first and second week beginning on the Monday following New Year’s 1257 <br />Day. In the event New Year’s Day is a Monday, holiday tree Collection shall commence on Tuesday 1258 <br />following New Year’s Day and continue for five (5) Business Days. Holiday trees shall be Collected 1259 <br />on the Customer’s regular Collection day during the designated week. Customer notification 1260 <br />requirements are specified in the public education plan, Exhibit B. 1261 <br />B. Drop Box for Drop-Off Collection. Contractor shall supply a thirty (30) cubic yard Drop Box, to be 1262 <br />placed at a location determined by the City, to provide a drop-off location for holiday trees. The 1263 <br />Contractor shall provide signage for the drop-off location that assists Persons in readily identifying 1264 <br />the site as the holiday tree drop-off location and signage on the Drop Box or adjacent to it with 1265 <br />instructions for placing the trees in the Drop Box and the types of items that are prohibited (e.g., 1266 <br />flocked trees, trees with decorations, etc.). The Contractor shall service the holiday tree Drop Box 1267 <br />on a regular basis and keep the surrounding area free of any debris. Contractor shall deliver the 1268 <br />Drop Box to a site specified by the City on the first Business Day after Christmas Day and shall service 1269 <br />the Drop Box until the third Monday of January. 1270 <br />C. Diversion Requirement. Holiday trees shall be Recycled, Composted, or used as mulch or a slope 1271 <br />stabilization material, in a manner to count as Diversion in accordance with AB 939 and in 1272 <br />compliance with SB 1383, with the exception of trees that are flocked, contain tinsel, or other 1273 <br />decorations, which shall be Collected and Disposed by Contractor. 1274 <br />5.5 City Facilities and Events Collection 1275 <br />5.5.1 City Facilities, and City-Sponsored Events 1276 <br />Contractor shall provide Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials Collection, Processing, 1277 <br />and Disposal services for City sponsored events, and City facilities at the Service Levels described in Exhibit 1278 <br />A. Contractor shall provide and maintain Collection Containers with the exception of public litter and 1279 <br />public Recycling cans (including those located in City parks), which shall be provided and maintained by 1280 <br />the City. Contractor may integrate Collection of City facilities with other Collection services provided that 1281 <br />Contractor estimates Tonnage Collected from City facilities separately from other Customers. 1282 <br />Contractor shall work cooperatively with the City to annually survey City facilities to determine 1283 <br />appropriateness of service and shall adjust Container size, frequency of service, and type of service if 1284 <br />appropriate. In addition, Contractor shall assist the City in developing a strategy for increasing Recycling 1285 <br />activities and Recycling participation levels of visitors and Commercial Customers in the City’s downtown 1286 <br />area (bounded by Peter Street, First Street, Bernal Avenue and Arroyo Del Valle). 1287
