Collection Services <br /> Franchise Agreement with Pleasanton Garbage Service <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton Page 35 June 7, 2022 <br />repeated failure to comply with the instructions, Contractor may Collect the Organic Materials as 1174 <br />Solid Waste and shall charge the Customer for the extra Solid Waste Cart at the City-approved Rate 1175 <br />on the Rate schedule in Exhibit G. 1176 <br />B. Carts. Contractor shall supply each Single-Family Customer with one (1) Cart for storage and 1177 <br />Collection of Organic Materials. The Contractor shall provide each Customer a ninety-six (96) gallon 1178 <br />Cart (or similar size approved by the City) unless the Customer requests a smaller Cart size, in which 1179 <br />case, the Contractor shall provide a thirty-five (35) gallon Cart (or similar sizes approved by the City). 1180 <br />If a Customer requests a second Organics Cart, Contractor shall provide the Cart to the Customer 1181 <br />and Collect Organics on a weekly basis. The Contractor shall charge the Customer for the extra 1182 <br />Organics Cart at the City-approved Rate on the Rate schedule in Exhibit G. 1183 <br />Contractor shall replace Organics Carts that have been stolen or damaged at no cost to the 1184 <br />Generator not more than once per year. Additional Cart replacements shall be charged to the 1185 <br />Generator at a Rate equal to Contractor’s actual purchase price of Cart (plus cost of Cart assembly) 1186 <br />and such Rate shall be approved by the City as shown on the Rate schedule in Exhibit G. 1187 <br />Refer to Section 5.16 for additional information about Containers. 1188 <br />C. Kitchen Pails. Upon Customer request and at no cost to the Customer, Contractor shall provide 1189 <br />Single-Family Customers kitchen pails for use in the kitchen suitable for the collection and storage 1190 <br />of Food Scraps. Contractor shall promote the availability of the kitchen pails through public 1191 <br />education efforts required by Exhibit B. Contractor shall purchase a sufficient number of kitchen 1192 <br />pails to maintain an inventory of pails so that upon a Single-Family Customer’s request, Contractor 1193 <br />can assemble (if needed) and deliver the pail to the Single-Family Customer within one (1) week of 1194 <br />request. Each kitchen pail shall be accompanied by flyer describing the Organic Materials program 1195 <br />requirements 1196 <br />The kitchen pail shall be consistent in function and specifications to meet guidelines or 1197 <br />requirements of the StopWaste.Org (also known as the Alameda County Waste Management 1198 <br />Authority and Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board) Residential Food Scrap 1199 <br />Subsidy Program. The kitchen pail shall be made of rigid plastic, and have a capacity of 1.5 to 2.5 1200 <br />gallons, a wire or plastic handle, and a lid. Contractor must submit kitchen pail order (including 1201 <br />material and design specifications, colors, and identification marks) to City for City’s written 1202 <br />approval prior to submitting the order to the manufacturer. 1203 <br />5.4.2 Multi-Family and Commercial Organics Collection Service 1204 <br />A. General. Contractor shall Collect Organic Materials from Commercial and Multi-Family Premises as 1205 <br />frequently as scheduled by Customer up to five (5) days per week, but not less than one (1) day per 1206 <br />week. Contractor shall provide Carts, Bins, Drop Boxes, or Compactors for Organics storage and 1207 <br />Collection and shall place Containers in locations determined by the Customer or property manager. 1208 <br />Commercial and Multi-Family Organic Materials Collection shall be performed at a time mutually 1209 <br />agreed upon by Contractor and the Customer and which is consistent with allowable Collection 1210 <br />hours specified in Section 5.14.3. 1211
